What not to wear...

It's been one of those days or weeks or even months.  I forgot to drop something off at my husband's office while I was in the area and didn't realize this until I got home.  Lunch was served, the kids ate and back out we went.  I figured since I wasn't getting out of the car that I could just wear my stay-at-home mom outfit, which today consists of capri sweat pants that I've been wearing for the past 3 days, a fresh tank top (I don't know how I got so lucky to have a fresh one) and my every day flip flops.  When I say every day flip flops, I really mean I wear them every damn day no matter what I have on.  They are hot pink.  Every bit of them is pink and they have a little silver Mickey Mouse head on the strap.  My hair is up in it's usual half braid full pony style and I have absolutely zero makeup on.  I actually thought about going bra-less for a second, but what if I get into a car accident?  At least my boobs will be supported.

Fast forward 20 minutes and I'm parked in front of his office and he's not answering his IM (instant message)...or text...or cell phone...or office phone.  Ok, I understand he's busy.  He must be in someone else's office.  Then my son tells me he has to go potty.  Awesome.  I gave myself a quick once over to see if I was in any way presentable to take my kids into the lobby bathroom and literally shuttered.  The pants I've had on for 3 days have biscuit dough and pizza sauce on them from lunch today and I think that's mac n cheese on my thigh from yesterday.  I don't even want to know what the other stain is.  My bra strap is thicker than my tank top so it's very noticeably showing, which I cannot stand.  My no make-up face has leftover residue from the mascara I wore 3 days ago and my newish flip flops that I got at Disney a couple of weeks ago are missing a Mickey head on one of them and now is just an empty hole.  Let me tell you, I look H.O.T.!

What's the point?  I'm not sure.  For a split second I got a little mad at myself for not giving any effort to what I look like.  But you know what?  My kids don't care what I wear.  My kids don't care if I have make-up on or not.  They care that I'm there and love me no matter what.

Wondering if I went inside?  Helllll no.  I had a co-worker tell my hubs I was waiting outside.

Why we love Wipeout!

It's been quite a while since I've sat down to watch Wipeout on ABC.  My family was searching for something to watch before bath time last night and I came across Wipeout on our DVR.  We used to watch this when my son was two and he would laugh so hysterically that it would make us literally laugh out loud also.  My daughter has never seen it, so I was curious as to how she would react.  Oh boy...

Not even five minutes into the show, both of my kids were on the floor pretending they were contestants.  My daughter is only 1, so she was just following what Big Brother was doing.  Pretty soon, we had two kids wiping out all over the place and it was hilarious!  I took a video, but posting it would show everyone how messy my living room is, so I'll pass on that.

What is one show that your family loves to watch together?

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!  I'm not sure which direction this will go, but we will figure it out together.  Why am I a  more than mediocre mom?  I could be worse, but I can certainly be better.  My posts here will be my thoughts on our activities as a family, as a wife, as a mom and as a person.

Thanks for stopping by!
